On Tuesday, 19th
January 2016, The Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Assam and launches (E&ICT) Electronics and Information Communication Technology
Academy at Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati.
The Government has setup this
academy to fill the gap between the skills needed of industry and the students
for enhancing their skills and knowledge for employability in various fields.
Academy wanted to fulfill the
requirements of the North-Eastern States in the areas of Electronics and IT and also other areas
like Arts, Commerce and Science colleges on the utilization of IT tools for
application in their respective domain of knowledge, learning, teaching and
enhancing productivity.
The academy will organizing
training programmes for engineering colleges and polytechnic colleges and also
focus on enhancing the knowledge of the faculty members of institutes and
colleges in the North-Eastern States in the fields like IT and Electronics.
